“Let's be brilliant” (video) – Syracuse University News News

The university scientist Jonathan Collard de Beaufort '25 looked back on everything that reached the class from 2025, and recognized what it took to get to the beginning.

“I am one of 12 university scientists here, but I know that every single person in this stadium can find out her own stories about hard work, late nights and on the way,” said Collard de Beaufort, while he addressed graduates during the opening exercises on May 11th.

“As a class, we produced 3D printed tissues, built machine learning algorithms, worked in architectural companies on four continents and researched court decisions on freedom of speak.” We each had our own version to find out. For me, an SMS neurosurgeon was written until one of them answered what led me into research and equipment in neurosurgery. “

The university was a launch pad for dreamers and makers, he said.

“Our demanding and collaborative nature has brought us together. “We voluntarily reported in our community and collected record -breaking funds for Ottothon, our annual fundraising campaign marathon. We have built beds for local children who need a safe place to sleep, and prove that orange is the color of compassion.”

Throughout their time at the university, the graduates have increased the challenge when they created, invented, invented and explored.

“We were brave. We took risks. We crossed limits. We found answers,” said Collard de Beaufort.

He also realized that many people are involved in the success of every graduate.

“We thank our professors, the administration and our employees and our families who were everywhere with us,” said Collard de Beaufort. “And we thank our classmates, who helped us on the way, who stayed us late, told us that we could do it and remembered who we were when we forgot.”

Collard de Beaufort encouraged the graduates to carry this spirit of support and togetherness while they were going into the world.

“Congratulations, class from 2025. We did it,” he said. “Let's be brilliant, be orange.”
