The Miami Gardens family says

Miami Gardens, Fla. – A family of Miami Gardens is disturbed after saying that a police officer from Miami Gardens fatally shot her dog.

The surveillance video shows that the 1 1/2-year-old Rottweiler named Zeus on Saturday to the officer, who seems to shoot the dog several times in a matter of seconds.

The dog then rolls onto the grass and runs back home. But Zeus would not survive.

Its owners, Nestor Cintra and family, are broken.

“The best dog ever. He was playful. He was a nice dog,” said Nestor's daughter Sarielis Cintra.

“Today is the first day I could eat,” Nestor told Local 10 News in Spanish.

The shootout occurred on Saturday in a neighborhood north of the Miami Garden Drive.

Nestor said he called the police to examine vandals, break the car windows, but after the official wrote his report, Zeus had through the closed, but unlocked the back goal.

Zeus was then shot by the officer.

Local 10 News asked the Miami Gardens police authority for a comment, but did not belong at the time of publication.

In general, police officers can unload their weapons if there is an imminent threat.

But the family insists that Zeus was not aggressive.

“It's very sad – I don't know what to say,” said Nestor. “You killed my dog.”
