Small child ejected in the crash along the I-85; Dui fees submitted

A toddler was seriously injured after being ejected from a vehicle during a single car accident on Interstate 85 in Troup County, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The crash occurred around 1:24 p.m. on May 11th near Mile Marker 24 on the I-85 to the north.

What we know:

The investigators said that a Lexus ES350 from 2007 left the road to the left, over -corrected and turned right before he hit a stump. A toddler was thrown out of the vehicle and brought to the west of Georgia Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The child remained hospitalized from Monday.

Three other passengers were also injured and taken to a hospital in Columbus for treatment.

The driver, which was identified from Decatur as Aprgschal Shanz Rembert (34), was charged with DUI, serious injuries by the vehicle and other crimes.
