Man dies, pupils who were injured in the frontal accident with stolen vehicle

Benzie County, Mi-Eine is dead and several are injured in Benzie County after a frontal accident on Sunday, the police said.

A 32-year-old Cedar man was declared dead as a press release from the Michigan State Police at the crime scene in M-115 between Lindy and Wallacker Roads in Joyfield Township.

The crash occurred as the deputy of the Benzie County's sheriff chasing a suspected stolen SUV, said MSP. The driver of the stolen vehicle was also accused due to minor bodily harm. The MPs tried a traffic stop, but the suspect continued with M-115 for about 1.5 miles to the west and then crossed the center line and fell to a van to the east.

The van wore a group of students between the ages of 15 and 18 and an adult driver. They were brought to a local hospital with several injuries, said MSP. The driver of the SUV was declared dead at the crime scene.

The soldiers of the MSP Traverse City Post were supported at the scene of Benzie County Sheriff's Office, Thompsonville Fire Department, Benzonia Township Fire Department, Benzie County Ems and MMR.
