Jacky Thigpen in car wreck in Lauderdale Co.

Lauderdale County, ala. (Waff) – One person was killed in a car wreck in Lauderdale County on Monday afternoon.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (Aleea) said a collapse with a single vehicle that took place on Monday around 1:55 p.m.

According to the authorities, the 33-year-old Jacky T. Thigpen was critically injured when the Dodge Neon in 2003, whom he drove, left the street, left a ditch and then hit a tree.

Alea said that Thigpen did not use a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence for treatment, where he later died of his injuries.

The crash occurred in US 43 near the 331-mile mark, about four miles north of Killen, in Lauderdale County.

Soldiers from the Aleas Highway Patrol Division continue to examine.
