Knicks' OG Anunoby jumps back from injuries to be 'disruptive' strength

OG Anunoby clung his left armpit when he got off the field at the end of the first quarter when he felt like a dubious memory of the painful injury that failed the defensive stopper of the Knicks in the playoffs last spring.

After Anunoby had spent a few minutes in the changing room at the beginning of the second time, he performed again and achieved some of the greatest buckets of the second half – and probably throughout the season.

His right-wing 3-pointer in the last minute of the third brought the Knicks as part of a 37:23 quarter in a massive 121:11 win over the Celtics in the garden in order to have a 3-1 lead with the chance to end the defending NBA champion in game 5 on Wednesday in Boston.

“I thought OG gave us a big game,” said Tom Thibodeau. “Only the toughness, the timely games, fly everywhere [Jayson] Tatum, there are a lot of things to navigate. “

Tatum scored 42 points at the height of the game before he had a serious injury to his right ankle or foot late in the fourth quarter.

Anunoby, who was recorded in the last two games of the series after 29 points at the start of just seven points for 3-on-15 shooting, took the victory on Monday with 20 points at 8-to-14 shootings with four made 3 points in 39 minutes.

“He is certainly a great offensive player and has the opportunity to influence the game in different ways,” said Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla. “If you carry out a breakdown of your points, try to take away those that you can most control what the transition is, the stuff from the offensive and the catch-and-shoot.”

In the playoffs of the past year, Anunoby suffered a popular left -hand michse in game 2 of the second round against the Pacers and missed the next four games.

He tried to return for game 7, but left the ground after playing only five minutes in the first quarter, and did not return to the team's defeat at the end of the team.

Anunoby, who signed a contract extension of $ 212.5 million in the summer, delivered several important games in the fourth quarter on Monday to help the Knicks seal the victory.

His journey to the basket extended a one-point lead over 102-99 with 6:32, and he continued with his fourth 3 pointer of the night with 5:52.

Anunoby's Breakaway diving from a Mikal Bridges Steal also brought down the house and pushed the chin of the knicks to nine with 3:03 on the clock.

“It felt good,” said Anunoby, adding that his knee tendon felt “a little strange” in the first quarter, but he's fine. “It was incredible and electrical [atmosphere]. We played hard and got stops and got out in the transition and scored a goal.

“We didn't put ourselves. It was hard, they were a bit up. Things went to them, they didn't go on our way, but we just fought.”
