Governor Little lights up education investments in the middle of the School Choice Bill controversy

Boise, Idaho – Governor Brad Little emphasizes the increased investments of the state in education during his term in office and the current legislative period. He described the efforts as a “great success” for his priorities, especially in education.

“Strong support for the public school for families and communities is both our moral and our constitutional obligation. In order to increase the income and achieve better results. State support for public schools has increased by 60% since taking office,” said Little.

In addition to strengthening public schools, Governor Little has signed a controversial draft law on school selection. Legislation offers up to $ 7,500 of tax credits to cover expenditure such as tuition fees, textbooks, tutoring and transport for parents who are registering their children at non-public schools.

The legislative template was significantly suspended by the inhabitants of Idaho, with protests occurring before and after its signing in the state capitol. A survey carried out by the governor's office showed that the Idahoer disapproved the invoice with a lead of six to one.

“I suggested that in my state of the state … very little was checked at a certain point in time, as the money was spent. I think there was a position about the tax commission. We have increased up to six. And remember if people do not adhere to it. Most states do not have that,” said Little.
