Welcome to the first round of the WPIAL Baseball playoffs with opening competitions for class A, 2A and 3A.

Two baseball teams of the district have a three-goal this spring: Bishop Canevin in class A and Seton Lasalle in 3a.

The rebels caught two gold gold in 2a, but moved in class this spring.

If Seton Lasalle recorded a third championship in a row, this would happen in a shocking way.

The rebels are the seed No. 14 in the 18-team holder, a long shot that even reached the last four, but increases the gold alone.

With Charleroi in section 4-3a, Seton Lasalle took second place with an overall record of 10-6. The rebels won five games in a row.

You will be a strong challenge of Ellwood City No. 3.

In section 1-3a, the Wolverines took second place with a final record of 14-5.

Ellwood City ended in second place, just a game behind Riverside, with a victory over the Panther's early spring. The Wolverines had a six-game winning shop with a defeat against Montour.

The teams meet under the light at 7 p.m. in North Allegheny.

• Top seed Riverside (13-2) tries to avoid the big surprise if you face Seneca Valley at 6 p.m.

• No. 8 Burrell (12-8) faces No. 9 Charleroi (10-6) on the Gateway at 3 p.m.

• No. 4 Waynesburg (15-3) plays No. 13 Freeport (13-6) on the Gateway at 5:30 p.m.

• No. 12 Mt. Pleasant (11-6) challenges South Park (12-6) at 8 p.m. in Gateway

• Defender 3A champion and No. 2 Avonworth meets Pigtail Game winner No. 15 Keystone Oaks (9-9) in the Fox Chapel at 4:30 p.m.

• No. 7 Quaker Valley (12-6) Battles No. 10 Ligonier Valley (10-7) in the Fox Chapel at 2 p.m.

• No. 6 Deer Lakes (9-6) squares with No. 11 Mohawk (10-9) in North Allegheny at 4 p.m.

Beaver County proud

In the first round of the baseball playoffs in class 2a on Tuesday there are three Beaver County teams, and two of them go to the head.

No. 7 South Side meets No. 10 New Brighton on Matulevic Field in Shaler at 4:30 p.m.

The Rams ended 10-6 this season and took second place in Section 3-2a with RiverView, two games behind the section winner Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.

South Side ended the season strongly and won four of his last five games.

The Lions ended the campaign with a record of 9-8 and took fourth place in a hard section 1-2a.

New Brighton appears in the playoffs in a three-game loss of Skid and achieved a total of three runs in these losses.

The Crusaders were finished with Serra Catholic and Eden Christian for the title Section 3-A title, but when the brackets came out, Serra, Eden and Leechburg received the three Byes.

Bishop Canevin is the seed no. 4 and has to play in the opening round against No. 13 Rochester in Burkett Park in Robinson Township at 6:30 p.m.

The crusaders are 10-6 and won five of their last seven games.

The RAMs are 9-7 after they have fourth place in section 2-A. They won three in a row and were victorious in five of their last seven games.

Here are the other four-class opening competitions:

• No. 8 Jefferson-Morgan (13-3) will compete against No. 9 in Norwin against Winchester Thurston (11-6). It is the first baseball playoff game for the Bears program.

• No. 5 Greensburg Central Catholic (15-2) faces No. 12 Seawickley Academy (5-12) in Plum at 5 p.m.

• No. 7 Western Beaver (14-4) Fights No. 10 Avella (10-7) in the Boyce Mayview complex in Upper St. Clair at 3 p.m.

• No. 6 Carmichaels (12-4) tries to remove No. 11 Union (7-9) in the Boyce Mayview complex in Upper St. Clair at 5:30 p.m.

Celebrate the deer

Ten years ago, the Deer Lakes softball team has held its second WPIAL championship for four years.

The Lancers celebrate this anniversary, which begins a search for the program's third district title.

The first step is Tuesday with a class 3a competition in the first round against Charleroi in Norwin at 5 p.m.

The Lancers lost their first five games, fell in their last three competitions and reached 7-13 when they took third place in section 1-3a.

Meanwhile, the Cougars won five of their last seven games to achieve third place in section 3-3a with an overall record of 9-8.

The winner will rise to the 3A quarter -finals to face top seeds and unbeaten South Park.

Houston, we have a problem

Some could feel that the Apollo Ridge Softball team is fresh for the off-season.

Others could be concerned that the Vikings risk being rusty.

In 16 days from April 28 to May 13, the Vikings will have played a game against Highlands on May 8th.

The Vikings won their last three section 2-2a games through loss.

Now the Apollo Ridge No. 8 begins the post-season as a second place, when it plays at 3 p.m. in Fox Chapel No. 9 Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (9-6)

With Seton Lasalle, the chargers took second place in section 3-2a.

Olsh lost his last two regular season games and ended a total of 9: 6.

One of the longest current playoff strips in the WPIAL sports is the Leechburg -Softballtball team.

The Blue Devils qualified for the softball playoffs for the 38th season in a row for third place in section 3-A.

Leechburg was a total of 8: 8 record of 0.500 in the regular season.

Lechburg will play No. 6 South Side in the first round of class A at 5 p.m.

While the Blue Devils lost three of their last four, the RAMs were the route on the route and won five games in a row to take second place in Section 1-A with the Sewickley Academy, three games behind Top Seed Union.

South Side enters the game with a 10-7 record.

The winner will play 3rd West Greene in the upcoming quarter -finals.

There are 10 WPial volleyball playoff games in the first round for Tuesday, where the weather is not a problem.

Class 3a has 14 teams in the bracket with first-class North Allegheny and No. 2 Seneca Valley, the opened ones, opened the round-byes.
