Center for Anglican Communion Studies: Highlights from 2025: Women Mentoring Women

Date: May 13, 2025

The Center for Anglican Communion Studies took place three months ago from February 24th to 28th the Women Mentoring Women Conference. From regions and continents in the Anglican community and with the support of the Trinity Wall Street, this conference brought together female and ordained managers of women who are passionate about mentoring and learning from others. We had an incredibly diverse group with representation of central, East and South Africa, South and East Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, the Caribbean, North and South America and Europe. The conference offered a truly global witness to the leadership, resistance and faith of anglica women.

Plenary sessions dealt with important topics such as the history of women in the church, the effects of war and poverty on women, health and well -being of women and the current state of theological education. In addition to these sessions, one-to-one-one mentoring talks created powerful and intercultural connections between the generations. The participants spoke of being strengthened by the stories of others and challenged themselves to lead again.

An important and urgent result among many conference was a collective commitment to support the Princess Basma Center in Jerusalem. This Anglican hospital, which serves children with disabilities and their families, is currently facing a lack of medical personnel and essential resources. In response to this, the conference made an objection to the broader community for prayers, financial support and attorney.

If we look back on the rich exchange of the conference with gratitude, we are now on purpose. We invite you to stand in solidarity with the Princess Basma Center and to transform the spirit of women who look after women in real and tangible care.
