NBA Draft Lottery winner and loser: Augen's promotion of Maverick's profit conspiracy theories, Spurs and 76 also go up

If you are a fan of chaos, you have certainly loved what happened in the NBA Draft lottery on Monday evening. The Dallas Mavericks only secured 1.8% of the chance. The San Antonio Spurs and the Philadelphia 76ers-the two long distances were to get top three picks-folks in second place or No. 3.

Here is the 2025 NBA Draft order for the top 10 picks:

  1. Dallas Mavericks
  2. San Antonio Spurs
  3. Philadelphia 76ers
  4. Charlotte Hornets
  5. Utah jazz
  6. Washington Wizards
  7. New Orleans Pelicans
  8. Brooklyn Nets
  9. Toronto Raptors
  10. Houston Rockets (about Phoenix Suns)

And when that has been done, we take a look at some of the big winners and losers in the Lottery Night.

Winner: Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks have to thank their happy stars, which they lost in their last game tournament game against the grizzlies. If you win this game, you fall out of the lottery so that the right in the first round of OKC will be blown up in the first round.

Instead, they lose this game and give themselves an opportunity of 1.8%to land No. 1. It wasn't much. Approximately like on the longest shot in the Kentucky Derby. But I will be damn if this horse did not get through, and suddenly a team Luka Dončić exchanged, then Kyrie Irving saw his ACL and was right on the edge to chase the whole thing in the air, in a first -class position to build up an immediate contender.

The Mavericks now have all possible options. You can simply design Cooper Flag, a player who is probably willing to make a contribution to a candidate (like a Chet Holmgren) and who can also not stop telling the world during the future of Dallas, when the kind of two-way component Nico Harrison. If Kyrie Irving can come back in January what Dallas is optimistic, an Irving flag-anthony Davis trio with shooters and a number of defenders I say is probably a more complete and capable team that should be managed by Dončić.

Or the Mavericks can put the No. 1 selection on the open market and see what comes back. Giannis Antetokounmpo will be up for discussion. Everyone now knows that. Can you imagine a Kyrie-Davis Giannis trio? This is absolutely crazy, as with a chance of 1.8% from a franchise brand to a first-class candidate who stumbled into a short and long-term success on an almost impossible way.

Winner: Cooper Flagg

The nightmare scenario for flag, the almost guaranteed top outline selection, was to reach the wizards. Of the three teams with the highest chances to get number 1, the Hornets would be tasty, if only the chance to get together with Lamelo Ball, and the jazz is in good hands with Danny Aing and Figure to build a small winner. According to Washington it would have been the worst.

But now Flag does not have to create with any of the lost teams. He either goes to a good team in the Mavericks with the chance to compete immediately, or he will be in a trade, perhaps to Milwaukee, which fades as a desirable goal, but unfortunately Washington is not. Good night for flag.

Winner: Philadelphia 76ers

After signing Paul George with the expectation that it would catapult them into first -class disputes, Philadelphia's season was an unrestricted disaster. Joel Embbiid only played in 19 games. George only played in 41 and, even in this limited campaign, was not even nearly good enough to justify his four -year price of $ 212 million.

When the Sixers finally gained tasks and attention to increase their lottery chances as high as possible, the only thing that could save their season was a top-Six selection. If they landed somewhere outside the top six, they would have lost the selection of OKC.

Philly not only stayed in the top six, but also landed number 3. As soon as we knew they were in the race for flag, it is a bit of disappointment that they didn't get number 1. But beggars can not be a choice. This is a deep draft, and Philadelphia can be a lot more likely with the No. 3 selection with a high -quality young player or as a commodity. Great night for the Sixers.

Winner: San Antonio Spurs

The spores are their way Up, Up, Up Baby. Two years ago, they designed Victor Wembanyama, who is one of the greatest players who were ever injured. Last year you have Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle. And now they land number 2 in the draft of this summer, even though they only achieve a chance of 6.3% for it.

Just like the above-mentioned Mavericks and Sixers, the Spurs now have the opportunity to use this choice for another young prospect if you build on one of the most promising futures in the league, or you can use it as a commercial agent to meet the fast forward key on your dispute bar.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is in the game here. San Antonio has the design of the assets, young players and the money to achieve something. Gregg Popovich, now officially from the sidelines and the top front office office, has an important decision with this choice, and all options sound damn well.

Losers: hornets, jazz, magician

There were some teams that started the season to win and went into the tank late, especially the 76, Spurs and Pelicans. But the teams who were on the tank from the start, whose sole mission was to lose enough games to win the lottery, came the bust.

That would be the Charlotte Hornets, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards, who ended with the three worst records in the league and thus shared the highest opportunities (14.5%each) of the lottery. They fell to No. 4, 5 or 6.

If you have a team without the chance to fight a playoff spot, and even more if you are not what we call the goal -franchise that can build a winner by free agency, tanking still makes sense. But it has not proven to be the way to number 1.

Since the 2019 league smoothed out its lottery chances in 2019, the team has never won number 1 with the worst overall record. This year was the jazz team, which fell in 5th place. Incredibly, this is actually the third year in a row, in which the worst team in the league has reached No. 5 selection. The pistons passed both in 2023 and 2024. In particular, the wizards literally fell to the lowest possible position, No. 6, for a team with a divided record.

After all, something didn't go in the way from Oklahoma City in the design. Nobody cries after the thunder, who still has a treasure trove of assets in addition to one of the most talented and recent roster in the league, but if you had added another lottery election in this design, it would have been too crazy to deal with it. Good in the thunder that made her own luck, but at least a little bit of it went on Monday.

Winner: Nico Harrison

This guy wanted to be about after he had acted a miserable return because of relatively perspective to observe how Anthony Davis was immediately injured and Kyrie Irving torn his ACL. This type was ready in Dallas. And next, what you know, you know what you know and ends up Cooper, the flag – who can only be dallas' future franchise player or his ticket for Giannis Antetocounmpo.

Players like Luka could get around every few decades. If so. If you only give away one, like Harrison and the Mavericks, register for the possibility that a player like this never bears your uniform again. But Harrison is given a basketball miracle with a prayer of 1.8% to start the cover-up process for one of the stupidest trades in sports history. Absolutely incredible.

Winner: conspiracy theorist

If you want to trumped the NBA conspiracy theories -that the playoff games of the league -rigs, lottery spots etc. for business purposes -then on Monday evening their time was to shine.

Let's be honest, the league did not want Cooper Flag in Washington, Charlotte or even Utah died a slow basketball death. It was also that the Mavericks, a pretty Premier franchise, went up in flames. It also has every incentive to do the Spurs as soon as possible as possible to maximize the marketing bonanza that Victor is Wembanyama. And clearly the Sixers, another top-class team who get a top selection to set a tourniquet for their bleeding, is in the best interest of the league.

And what do you know, against exceptional opportunities … everything happened. None of these things. Not two of these things. All of them. The Mavericks with a chance of 1.8% landed number 1. The Spurs with a chance of 13% landed a top Two selection. The Sixers with a chance of 31.6% landed a top three selection.

Put all these results together, and the chances that this will happen are tiny. And it came into play. Do what you want.
