5 Arrested for murder after man was robbed, killed in the hotel: HCSO

Five people are suspended for allegations of murder after the MPs from Highlands County said that the group had violently robbed a 21-year-old man in a hotel room and shot him.

The sheriff's office says that the shootout took place last Thursday, May 8th, in the Ramada Inn in front of US 27 in Lake Placid.

According to HCSO, the MPs found Elijah Daley's body in a room in the hotel.

The MPs say that three people who initially claim to be witnesses told the investigators that they were in the room with Daley when a masked man shot three times during a fight.

Detective said it became clear within hours that these three people – J'mari Mitchell, 18, La'niyah Mcleod (19) and Yoshabelle Edouard (19) were involved in the establishment of the robbery that led to shooting.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the surveillance video contributed to identifying the alleged shooter than 26, which was arrested in Sebring on Friday evening, Latarius Johnson.

Jyer'markis Jenkins, 20, is accused of driving Johnson to and from the scene, with the MPs said that he was arrested after a high -speed penalty.

What's next:

All five suspects are charged with the first degree murder, while Johnson is also charged with armed robbery.

The Sheriff's office says that the suspects could face the death penalty if the public prosecutor's office decided to capitalize.
