Nanny sisters who were sentenced to life, 18 years in the death of children abuse

Taipei, May 13th (CNA) Two sisters, both former Nannies, who registered Liu (劉 劉 劉 劉 劉 劉 劉 劉 劉 劉), were sentenced to life in their care for a lifelong prison sentence and 18 years for torture by a one -year -old boy.

Liu Tsai-Hsuan (劉彩萱) received a lifelong prison sentence, while her younger sister Liu Juo-Lin (劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳 劉若琳) was sentenced to 18 years, including child abuse, which led to death.

The court found that the sisters “derived pleasure from abuse” and described their behavior as extremely malignant and severely harmful.

The sisters have not reached an agreement with the child's grandmother, and their potential for social reintegration was rated as moderately to moderately high, the court said.

The older sister was hired by the Child Welfare League Foundation (CWLF) and was assigned to offer a one -year -old boy with the nickname Kai Kai (剴剴) full -time care.

Kai Kai's mother was missing after giving birth to him in New Taipei in February 2022. After the father's whereabouts were unknown, custody was transferred to the boy to his grandmother, who intended her intention to put him for adoption in June 2023. The case was then taken over by the CWLF.

Together with her younger sister Liu Juo-Lin, who often charged the two in April 2024 when caring for children

After the verdict, the sisters not only beat Kai Kai and starved him, but also tied it together with ropes and fabric, covered his body with violence and covered his eyes with a facial mask. He suffered at least 42 violations of abuse.

Kai Kai was found out on December 24, 2023 and later died of his injuries after the sister had taken the child to a local hospital.

After the judgment, the child's grandmother's lawyer, Lin Shuai-Hsiao (林帥孝), said that the court did not meet public expectations for the death penalty, the court for the introduction of the maximum law in accordance with the legal punishment requested by the family.

Lin said that Liu Tsai-Hsuan's lifetime reflects the company's demand for long-term imprisonment to prevent further damage to children. The family will consider whether to appeal the judgment of the younger sister, he added.

The sisters were also charged in January 2024 because in 2023 they allegedly abused two other small children in their care. One reported an incident in September 2023 to force a 6 -month -old child to stand on the ground with one foot on a chair and the other, which caused pain and stress.

The judgments can still be appealed.
