Fold iPhone: design rumors, price leaks and everything we know so far,

A foldable iPhone is the rumor that does not die, but perhaps with good reason. Because while the device was rumored for most of a decade, there are now signs that it could finally start soon.

What rumors are currently circulating? And how could Apple's first foldable folding department of people like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold stand out?

Foldable phones are available in two varieties: “Standard” folding sheets that open like a paperback book and flip phones (like those from the early 2000s) that open up like a make-up mirror. Samsung does both: The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is the former and the z -flip 6 of the latter.

Apple's foldable iPhone has been linked to both designs in the past, which does not help to clarify which form factor the device actually takes. Early rumors said that it would be a flip phone, while newer rumors concern a more standard foldable design.

We would expect the latter because it would enable a larger screen. Flip telephones typically have smaller screens, while more standard folding sheets are often opened to offer a display of about 7 to 8 inches via the diagonal. This is the equivalent of a small tablet.

With the mobile OLED screens from Apple to the best in the shop, we would expect it to use a standard folding design to maximize the screen properties.

He assumes that the device has a “book-like” design with a 5.5-inch outdoor screen and a 7.8-inch display that was opened once.

This external screen would be smaller than that of the iPhone 16 (with 6.1 inches) and smaller than that of rivals, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (6.2 inches) and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold (6.3 inches). The folded screen would be larger than the Z -Fold 6 (7.6 inches), but smaller than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold (8 inches).

The screen fold proved to be problematic for the earliest leaflet. It was not only clearly visible, but also some early models for cracking and breaking after some use. Fortunately, these problems have been ironed since then and it is unlikely that it will occur in an Apple device – sometimes it is worth not being on the market first.

According to a report by Business KoreaApple uses a fold-free Samsung Oled panel in its foldable iPhone. Samsung has been creating foldable screens for six years since the original Galaxy Fold started in 2019. So there is a lot of specialist knowledge in this area.

We would expect a foldable iPhone to have the same 120 -Hz -Promotion -Display technology such as the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. This gives these telephones the maximum update rate of the 60-Hz-iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus twice as high as with rapidly moving games and films less blurring.

In his extensive blog post, the experienced Apple Watcher Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the foldable will be a “real AI-controlled phone”.
