Man met, killed by train in Antioch

Nashville, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man was killed and killed by a train in Antiochia on Tuesday morning.

The officers reacted to the railway rails behind the 5200 block of the Hickory Hollow Parkway to reports in which a man was hit by a CSX train. CSX reported that the incident took place between Camper Road and Bell Road at around 8:30 a.m.

First aiders arrived at the scene to find the man dead and according to MNPD with his face down under a train car. The train was found directly behind the 510 Collin Park Drive because it took to take a complete station.

The police said that it had found parts of the remains of the victim on the tracks for about three vehicles.

“The conductor said that the train had just driven through the Camper RD Crossing (Marker J10.5), blew her horn and came around a curve when they observed that the victim was on the tracks,” said Mnpd. “The victim was supposedly 2-3 soccer length when he was observed for the first time, and the conductor began to blow the horn to draw the victim of the oncoming train.”

The conductor told the officials that the victim stood in the middle of the tracks and was apparently motionless, whereby his head hung and was inclined to the side. The police said when the train operators found that the man did not move from the tracks, they applied the emergency brakes.

However, it was too late and the train hit the man.

“The victim was brought to the medical examiner's office for further investigation. The identity of the victim is still unknown at this point in time until the medical examination center is not known by the medical examiner's office,” said MNPD.

CSX thanked first aiders for their fast actions and offered condolences.

“We deeply appreciate the quick reaction of the local emergency staff and expand our thoughts affected by this tragic event to everyone.”

The incident remains examined.
