Lecks in the Pipeline to Manitou Springs were not regarded as critical repairs

Manitou Springs, Colorado (Krdo) – The city guides in Manitou Springs told the residents on Tuesday that the water restrictions will remain into force until the end of the week.

The city's water treatment system cannot keep up with the heavy sediment that is brought in by the recent drains, and the connection to Colorado Springs service programs cannot be used due to a leaky tube.

The crews continue to work on repairing the leaks at the old North Slope pipeline, but the project will probably take a few more days.

CSU told Krdo13 examined That the North Slope line is approximately 100 years old and is difficult to use due to the mountainous area through which it runs.

According to CSU, the leak was discovered last week when the workers repaired valves.

Due to a variety of other water sources, the pipeline is not necessary to deliver the customers of CSU water, so that the repairs were not considered critical at this point.

The mayor of Manitou Springs, John Graham, said he didn't know the leak or the late repairs until they tried to access the water on Sunday, but not.

Krdo13 examined asked for an interview with Manitou Springs City Leaders to ask for the pipeline and the lack of urgency to repair them. They rejected an interview and instead replied with this explanation:

“At this point, we cannot provide an interview because our employees concentrate on solving the problem and at the same time maintaining all other city functions. In the effort to get water in urban facilities, employees who work from home from home were given the opportunity to get this. All essential employees are gloves and tried to maintain this resolution, as well as the maintenance of all other human functions.” “
