BYU promotes Brian Santiago to replace long -time sports director Tom Holmoe

Provo, Utah (AP) – BYU promoted Brian Santiago for long -time sports director Tom Holmoe.

The school announced on Tuesday that Santiago will be increased by the deputy sports director after work under Holmoe, who retired after 20 years at the beginning of this year.

“We are happy, on the striker and the inheritance of Tom Holmoe, who is retiring, with the appointment of Brian Santiago as the next Athletics director of BYU,” said Byu President C. Shane Reese in a statement. “Brian has a success story of leadership and the ability to lead BYU icing athletics, while we navigate through the complex and fast-developing water of college icing athletics. During this search process, I realize that Brian will try to strengthen the academic and spiritual mission of BYU, and he understands how the life of our student athletes blesses.”

Santiago has been the deputy sports director of the BYU since 2017, after spending a senior associate athletic director in the past nine years. He began in 1997 as a deputy basketball coach at BYU before entering the sports administration.

Santiago completed the Provo High School and played basketball in the US state of Utah Valley and Fresno.
