Expert found no mushrooms of the fatalities in the sample, hears Court hearing

Dr. Camille Truong On August 1, a package with remnants of the beef -Wellington -Essen was sent -three days after the fatal lunch with Erin Patterson's house.

It was a large pressure lock bag that contained the food.

They could see the object inside.

She put on gloves and used sterilized tweezers and a microscope, the dish hears.

I saw that it was a food that contained mushrooms inside.

I picked out the pieces of mushrooms.

She says she has not found mushroom pieces for death caps.

Then she returned the remains in her pocket and put them in her fridge.

The next day she brought the remnants to the Royal Botanic Gardens laboratory.

“I pulled out all the small mushroom pieces on a tray … I also took photos of the spores I watched.”

Asked by the prosecutor, Nanette Rogers SC, if she has found any mushrooms of deaths in the subject, she says “No, I didn't do it”.

Truong says that the only mushrooms she found were “field mushrooms” that can be found in supermarkets.

Jurors showed CCTV film material from a Victorian tip

Darren Canty Says that on August 4, 2023, he was contacted by the Victoria police on the tip. He was asked to inquire about film material after August 2.

He found the CCTV film material and sent this to the police, he says.

Canty says he asked an employee to check the tip scales on August 4th. He remembers the discovery of the employee:

He said it looked like a microwave thydrator.
