Charles Barkley proposed this call for Jayson Tatum after Celtics injury

Jayson Tatum has a long way to return to the court for the Boston Celtics.

The six-time all-star broke his Achilles on Monday against the New York Knicks on Monday. Tatum is equipped for the rest of the off -season and possibly next season in the next season because he starts a lengthy rehab process.

The NBA analyst and the Hall of Famer Charles Barkley offered the Celtics star from TNT on Tuesday and recommended that Tatum add advice from another NBA legend who recently suffered the same injury.

“This is a piece that you play 1000 times a game in which you simply pull your leg,” said Barkley on “Inside the NBA”. “Injuries are just the luck of the draw. The first call I would accept is Kevin Durant. … When I am Jayson, I call Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant is six years away when he blown out his Achilles and he is still a hell of a player.”

Durant tore his Achilles in the 2019 NBA final with the Golden State Warriors and missed the following season before starting his next chapter with the Brooklyn Nets. Durant found his way back into the all-star form and should be the goal for Tatum's restoration process with the Celtics.

If Tatum returns to the ground for the Celtics, Boston's squad could look very, very different than in the present.
