Rathdrum man who is charged with hate crimes

Coeur d'Aleene – a man from Rathdrum is faced with a hate crime after the police said that he had directed a weapon on a man, called him racist writings and threatens to kill him.

Blake J. Weatherly, 31, is charged with malicious harassment and serious bodily harm, both criminals.

In Idaho it is illegal to threaten, intimidate or harass another person due to the breed, color, religion, origin, origin or national origin. Incidents must contain injuries, property damage or adequate threats from both in order to qualify as malicious harassment. The crime of malicious nuisance does not prohibit the use of racist blur, but rather racist.

The charges came from March 8, when the Rathdrum police responded to a possible domestic dispute with Weatherly and a man who is related to Weatherly.

A 911 dispatcher advised the police that the parties involved scream “the n-word”. One party said “something from” put the weapon “” “while someone else shouted”.

The reporting that is a black man told the Rathdrum police that he accompanied his girlfriend to Weatherly's home to pick up her child. During a subsequent dispute the man said that he never got out of his vehicle because Weatherly's behavior frightened him.

The man said Weatherly told him: “I'll be on a tree, n-word”, with the full pockets and while he focused a pistol on him after court records.

Weatherly told the police that he felt “threatened” by the presence of his relative's friend in front of his house, so he took a pistol out of his own vehicle and held it “in a low position”, pointed to the floor.

The police checked text messages that Weatherly sent to his relatives about their friend. In a message, Weatherly told her that she should “get the low life (n-word) so that her son can feel welcome at home, or I will clarify the space myself,” said court files.

On April 24, the public prosecutor submitted charges for criminal offenses and a judge signed an arrest warrant of $ 20,000 for Weatherly's arrest.

After his arrest the following day, Weatherly gave a deposit. It is expected that he will be released again in May.
