The New York Yankees activated the DJ Lemahieu Infieldder from the injured list to give its season debut. He is not in the starting line -up on Tuesday. In a corresponding movement Oswaldo Cabrera landed on the IL with a broken ankle.

The 36 -year -old Lemahieu was on the IL all the season after suffering only two games in spring training. He played in just 67 games last season when he had to deal with a bone breeding in the right foot, a broken right foot and a right hip. He was also not very productive when he scored on the field on .204/.269/.259 (52 ops+) and published -1.6 war. In 2023 Lemahieu scored 1.3 war and he was a very good player in 2022 and scored in 125 games with 110 ops+ and 3.6 war .261.

Lemahieu is still under contract next season and earns 15 million US dollars this year and in 2026. Since he had a mixture of a second basis, third basis and first basis in 2019.

Paul Goldschmidt played the first basis with Ben Rice at DH and took Giancarlo Stanton's expected place. The third basis is a little less rejected with Oswaldo Cabrera and Oswald Peraza. There is also a chance that Lemahieu, due to a weird injury, could get a regular season in the second base with Jazz Chisholm Jr. on the injured list.
