Hull Royal Infirmary starts his first animation video for children

A hospital started an animated video to explain the procedures to children with special educational needs and disabilities.

The Hull Royal Infirmary employees worked together with the animation company to create a video via an electroencephalogram (EEG) in which sensors are attached to measure brain activity.

The video called Unseen Buddies Episode 1 – The video contains an EEG and shows a friendly character named Sparky to illustrate the test.

The pediatric team hopes that the video will be the first in a series and that young people and their families lead through their health trips, including MRI scans, blood tests and the hospital.

Dr. Sandhya Jose, consultant for pediatric medicine for the NHS Humber Health Partnership, said that fears can be “increased in children with additional needs or disabilities” because they “can find it more difficult to understand what happens”.

She said: “To be able to give you clear information that you can record in your own way in your own way can really help to calm and calm children and, as members of the health professions, to get us out of your time in the clinic.”

Feedback from families who use their services were taken into account when creating the video, Dr. Jose added.
