The Mexican influencer shot during the live stream

A Mexican Social Media Influencer was shot during a live stream in Tiktok, where she had tens of thousands of supporters, the authorities announced on Wednesday.

The Mexican press cited her as Valeria Marquez (23), who published videos on beauty and lifestyle, a few hundreds of thousands of prospects.

The public prosecutor's office of Jalisco reported on Tuesday evening in her beauty salon in Zapopan, a suburb of the western city of Guadalajara.

“The victim is someone with an active presence and influence on social media,” says an explanation.

“A man entered the site and apparently fired a weapon on her,” added.

The motive of the attack was not immediately known.

The region is a breeding site of criminal activities in which one of the most violent drug trade groups Mexico, the Jalalco New Generation Cartel, is located.

So far, however, the investigators have not found any evidence that a criminal group was behind the shootout, the state security coordinator Roberto Alarcon told reporters.

The mayor of Zapopan, Juan Jose Frangie, said his office had no records that Marquez asks for help from the authorities due to threats against them.

“It is unbelievable that they are making a video and then murdered. Femicide is the worst,” said Frangie.

According to media reports, Marquez was killed by a man who pretended to bring her a gift.

The United Nations say that around 10 women or girls are murdered in Mexico every day, where criminal and gender -specific violence is widespread.
