Bruce Springsteen calls Donald Trump “traitor” at the tour 2025 tour

Bruce Springsteen started his 2025 Land of Hope and DreamS European tour on Wednesday evening at Co-OP Live in Manchester, England, through a fiery speech that was ravaged against Donald Trump.

“The Mighty e Street Band is here tonight to call the righteous power of art, music, rock'n'roll in dangerous times,” he said on stage right after walking. “In my house, the America, which I love, the America I have written about, and has been a beacon of hope and freedom for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treacherous administration. Tonight we ask everyone who believes in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us to raise their voices against authoritarianism.

Springsteen is a passionate liberal who has used every democratic candidate for the president in the past two decades, and he has not made any efforts to disguise his contempt for the current Trump, but this is his most passionate denunciation of him to this day.

He hammered the point home and followed “Land of Hope and Dreams” with “Death to My Homeetown”, a politically charged song from his LP 2012 Demolition ball about how predatory the greed of the great recession from 2007/08 checked.

A little later on the show he played “Rainmaker” from the album 2020 Letter to you For the first time in a concert environment. The song is a warning story about how demagogues use desperate people by offering simple answers to their problems. “Rainmaker says White's Black and Black's White,” says Springsteen. “Say the night and night at night/say, close your eyes and go to sleep now/I'm in a burning field that discharges a hinge into low clouds.”

The topic of economic despair and dislocation later sat down on the show with “My Homeetown” (“Now the funny windows of the main street/and free shops”) and “Youngstown” (“now, the works only scrap and rubble/he said:”

Springsteen paused in front of “My City of Ruins” to give another speech about the state of America. “There are some very strange, strange and dangerous shit out there,” he said. “In America, they pursue people to use their right to freedom of expression and express their contradiction. This is now happening. In America, the richest men take satisfaction to leave the poorest children in the world to illness and death. This is now happening.”

He continued: “And in my country they have sadistic joy in the pain that they cause loyal American workers, they roll back the historical civil rights laws that have led to a fair and moral society. They leave our great allies and put up with dictators against those who fought for their freedom.”

Trend stories

This tour was originally regarded as an additional leg by Springsteen and the E Street Band of the E -Street Band Letter to run Run, who started in early 2023. But it was renamed the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour at the beginning of this month and is clearly in a political direction, now that Trump is back in the White House.
