Business of Grayton Beach react to the trendort for the memorial day

Grayton Beach, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – White sand, a clean aesthetics and locally obsessed companies.

“We are a family business and we all work here. My father, my mother, everyone works here,” said Rosario Petit.

Petit and his family own and operate Red Bar on the Grayton Beach.

The room is covered with art and family photos, and Petit says, as long as he can remember, the memorial day weekend has always been busy.

“May 25th, that's always the date. For us it was all my life,” said Petit. “I have a younger sister. Her birthday is May 25th and years she was always a dispute for us because we celebrate her birthday either early or after because it is the busy weekend.”

According to Homeetogo.com, Grayton Beach experienced an increase of 48% in the search for the memorial Day Weekend Travel.

That brings it to the number nine in the top 10, which the local artist and shopkeeper Chandler Williams believes that it is attributed to the hidden nature of the city.

“We always tell our customers that they ask for Grayton and everything I think is the nice thing about it is a kind of small 'salty nugget' they know,” said Matney. “So, I think there is a lot of attraction when it comes to traveling and going to the beach.”

Others on the beach, such as the possession of partner Travis Matney, say that the increasing popularity can also be better infrastructure thanks to a better infrastructure.

“With the use of the shuttle, we can now bring more people down here, the parking lot was limited before and I think what the district did with the shuttle gave more people access to the beach,” said Matney.

Matney also mentioned plans for further public toilets next year.

Grayton Beach could possibly continue to climb this list of goals between growth and maintaining his identity.
