4 Dashed during the crash on the Taconic State Parkway in West Chestern County – NBC New York

Four people were killed in a fiery crash along the Taconic State Parkway in New York after a van crossed the median and, according to the police, hit an oncoming car.

A sprinter car drove to the south on Wednesday evening on the Autobahn near the city of West Chestry County of New Castle when he crossed the median and crossed the lanes to the north, said the New York state police. It was not immediately clear why the vehicle went on oncoming traffic.

According to the police, the van rammed into a Honda sedan in the passing lane, and was soon used up in flames. Three people in the van were declared dead at the crime scene, the police said.

The Honda driver was taken to the hospital, but later died of her injuries. None of the victims have been identified.

According to the police, the person at the wheel of the van was taken to the hospital in a critical condition in the West Chest Medical Center.

In the north of the Taconic State Parkway, 9.2 was closed near Mile Marker on Wednesday evening, the state police said. An investigation continues. All witnesses of the crash or people with relevant information were asked to contact the New York State Police at (845) 677-7300.
