Jayson Tatum's father reports reportedly heartbreaking reaction to injury messages

On Wednesday evening, the Boston Celtics defeated the New York Knicks with a score of 127-102 (in game 5).

The Celtics won an excretion game after getting that News (on Tuesday) that Jayson Tatum would be equipped with a broken Achilles tendon for the year.

About the Boston Celtics (on Tuesday): “Jayson Tatum was subjected to a successful operation today to repair a broken Achilles tendon with the right Achilles. There is currently no schedule available for his return, but it is expected to be completely recovered. Further updates may be provided.”

Before game 5, Marc J. Spears from ESPN reported how Tatum's father (Justin) reacted to the injury messages about his son.

Spears: “His father trains a team in Indonesia and they were on their way to a game in Mongolia … He watches the game on his board, and he is like, my son cooks … Justin, who played the college and professional basketball himself, knew that he felt that this was an injury to Achilles.

Tatum had a year in which he led the Celtics to the NBA championship 2024 over the Dallas Mavericks.

He has played the NBA All-Star game in the last six seasons.

The Celtics will play against the Knicks in New York game on Friday.
