The New York State Police continues to examine a fatal car accident with two vehicles, which was previously held on the Taconic State Parkway near Mile Marker 9.2 in the city of New Castle, West Chestian County.

Preliminary examinations show that a sprinter car was south when he crossed the median and entered north. The van then met a Honda limousine to the north that traveled on the lane.

The influence caused the sprinter car to be overturned and devoured in flames. Three residents of the van were died at the scene. The driver of the Honda, who was taken to the hospital, has succumbed to her injuries and died.

The driver of the sprinter car remains in the West Chest Medical Center in a critical condition.

The lanes to the north of the Taconic State Parkway will remain closed at this time, as the investigators continue to research.
