Video: Classical Act has success in his DNA

More than 20 years ago, three musicians in the twenties – graduates of the central music conservatory in Beijing – liked to spend time with close friends. Then everything changed during an apparently ordinary dinner.

From a mood, they decided to form a trio – a spontaneous spark of a musical dream was lit around this table. Nobody knew whether it would fade or thrive. However, this spontaneous decision was the beginning of a musical journey, which now lasts two decades.

Today you are known as a DNA trio -one of the most celebrated chamber music ensembles from China -that includes the pianist Zhang Jialin, who is now a professor at the central conservatory of music; Geiger Zhang Jingye, also a faculty member at the conservatory, and cellist Song Zhao, an independent artist.

This year, the musicians will not only return to the stage this year, but also to the roots of their artistic identity. From Saturday to August 9, the trio will perform a concert every month and systematically presented all eight Beethoven piano -Trios.
