How to watch the policeman's murder process, Day 3 of Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids, Mi – testimony on the second day of the court for a former police officer Grand Rapids, who was accused of murdering a black driver, comprised experts in Taser and use of violence.

The public prosecutor of Kent County called Seth Stouthton, professor at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law, to talk about mistakes that he believed that she was made after a traffic stop on April 4, 2022.

That was the day when Schurr over Patrick Lyoya, a 26-year-old Congolese immigrant, started in a neighborhood on the city's southeast side. In the end he shot into his head after a fight.

The third day of Schurr murder process begins on Wednesday, April 30, at 8:30 a.m.

Schurr fired his Taser twice during the fight with Lyoya, but neither of them made enough contact to deactivate Lyoya.

Before the fight, Lyoya tried to flee from the traffic stop. Schurr caught up and Lyoya resisted custody.

The fight followed and Schurr was finally on Lyoya when he pulled his pistol and shot Lyoya in his head.

Stouthton said that a sensible police officer had not used fatal violence against Lyoya and Schurr is not immediately threatening to death or serious damage.

Another witness, Bryan Chile, a senior engineer for investigations with Taser-Maker Axon, said that Schurr, although Schurr had fired both probes from the Taser, could still be a threat if it were pressed against someone in drive mode.
