Young Mariner's pitcher sat up when the wave of injuries hits the rotation again

Bryce Miller delivers a playing field during the third inn of a game against the Toronto Blue Jay.

The Seattle Mariners pitching rotation scored another goal when the right-handed Bryce Miller was on the 15-day injury list due to the right-wing elbow inflammation, which is retrospectively until May 12th.

This is the third Mariner's starter who ends with arm editions this season and connected George Kirby and Logan Gilbert.

Bryce Miller had an MRI on Monday evening and there was no structural damage in his elbow. He is confident that he will only need the minimum stay.

Fight on the hill

The 26-year-old Miller struggled in 2025 and set up a 2-4 record with an ERA of 5.22 over eight starts.

In his last excursion, he gave up seven runs over five innings against the Toronto Blue Jay.

Miller announced that he has had to do with persistent elbow complaints since the end of last season, which has influenced his performance this year.

“I could go out and throw. But I just couldn't have felt how I could feel,” said Miller.

“I didn't think something big was wrong. It was just something that referred and was unable to repair yourself.”

An MRI carried out on Monday showed no structural damage, and Miller received a cortisone shot on Tuesday to reduce inflammation.

He expressed optimism about a quick return and explained: “I will just get it out, do it well for the rest of the year and hopefully feel good.”

Rotation in the river

The timing of Miller's injuries makes it difficult for Seattle. After Kirby has already experienced tiredness with poor tiredness, the Mariners quickly have no more options.

In response, the team reminded the left-handed Jhonathan Díaz from Triple-A Tacoma and will rely more on Luis Castillo, Bryan Woo and Rookie arms such as Logan Evans and Emerson Hancock.

The Mariners made it clear that they are in Win-now mode, and Miller should be an essential part of this plan.

While the early returns were hard in 2025, the team does not write it down – especially without much damage to scans.

“They said everything looks really good structurally,” said Miller.

Large picture: eyes in October

Similar to the New York Yankees with Spencer Jones-a player, which, despite the trade interest, they were recorded on Miller's long-term potential despite the commercial interest due to his perceived perspective.

His Breakout from 2023 has proven that he can take up at a high level, and although this IL stay may appear backwards like a step, he could ultimately reset the reset that he needs.

If Miller returns healthy and effectively by the middle of the season, Seattle's gambling is paid out.

But if the elbow problems or its control problems stop, the team may have difficult questions about how long they can rely on it in the rotation.

“I look forward to getting past it and hopefully being willing to end the year strongly,” said Miller. “To get through it is good. Not only physically, but also mentally.”

Do not be surprised if summer heats up the speculation of the trading term and the speculation of the trading period begins when the Mariner buyers are on the pitching market.

It remains to be seen whether Miller is a reliable piece for the stretch run. But at the moment both players and team hope that this is only a small detour on the way to October.
