Tim Miller carries out a new season of 'Love, Death & Robots'

It was a wild trip for Tim Miller, the manufacturer of Creator Director Executive and Author of Netflix 'Animation Hit series “Love, Death & Robots”.

The 60 -year -old Miller is best known as the director who revived “Deadpool”. For animation fans, his three Emmys for “LD & R” as an outstanding short form program are proof that he is a master at the peak of his strength.

“LD & R” was designed six years ago by Miller and David Fincher (“Fight Club”, “Gone Girl”). With a desperate offer of the last way out.

In a post -screening discussion in the Paris Theater in Netflix in Manhattan, he said about the slippery, racy, ambitious series: “I felt so grateful to get a season. Fincher made this deal with Netflix from '' No pay for us for season 1 -we make it free.

“So we were so insecure about ourselves. Not,” said Miller, “that we lack self -confidence, but it is only that nobody wanted this (expantive) thing.

“Like a Bazillion meeting and Hollywood, we have encouraged anthology like an adult. Hmm, that has really worked in the past.”

It was the past, in particular the animated “Heavy Metal” film from 1981, an adult animated science fantasy anthology, which was inspired by the heavy metal comic, who inspired “LD & R”.

“It's no secret that I am a super comic nerd,” said Miller. “But I didn't want to do children with children (that's not wrong.) I would go films with midnight and see 'Heavy Metal' or 'Fritz the Cat' and hope that one day I might be animation for adults.

“I met David, who said,” Let's do something together. “One of them was a new 'heavy metal' to inspire a new generation, as inspired by me.

“So we really tried. We made a film of 50 million US dollars – that was 12 years ago and it was Jim Cameron! Zach Snyder! Guillermo del Toro! Fincher! And we couldn't get anyone (explosively). We met with everyone several times.

“When I did” Deadpool “, Fincher said in the week after it came out,” congratulations, (Expletive)! We will use your newly discovered popularity to do this. “

“We went to Netflix,” because he, “he said,” they will do instead of going through the studio again. “

“So we had a” meeting of consciousness “and showed them what it takes. They look at it – nothing is said. David says:” Okay, that's it. We do it. “

“I said,” Nobody said anything. Nobody said. “And he says:” Age, there is a lot of non -verbal communication in this room that you are not kept to. “

And so they came in season 4.
