“We identified a distant relative who lived in Romania. With this information they had to build a family tree,” said John McCarthy, prosecutor of the state of Montgomery County, according to Outlet. “After he was arrested on the basis of this DNA result, we carried out a confirmation test and tested his DNA again to assure itself that it was actually Mr. Gligors DNA.”

McCarthy announced the local NBC 4 that the DNA of Gligor was found in several places throughout the house. “The damn evidence in the case was the DNA, which was under Ms. Preer's fingernails because she had to struggle with her attacker,” he said.
