US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he said it Apple CEO Tim Cook that he does not want the Tech -Riese to build its products in India, make shots in the company's steps to diversify the production of China and urge it to Pivot Stateside.

“I had a little problem with Tim Cook yesterday,” said Trump. “I said to him: 'My friend, I treated you very well. You come here with $ 500 billion, but now I hear that you are building all over India.' I don't want you to build in India.

Trump referred to Apple's commitment to an investment of 500 billion US dollars in the United States, which was announced in February.

Apple has increased production in India in India to produce around 25% of global iPhones in the country in the next few years, since around 90% of its flagship smartphones are currently to be assembled.

“I said to Tim, I said: 'Tim Look, we treated you really well, we have captured all plants that you build in China for years. Now you have built us. We are not interested in building in India, India can take care of yourself … We want you to build here,” said Trump.

The US President added that Apple would “increase” its production in the United States without revealing further details.

Trump made the comments about the US Tech giant while discussing Washington's wider trade relationships with India.

Trump said India was “one of the highest customs covers in the world” and added that the country offered the United States a deal in which “they are willing to literally not ask us to a tariff”.

After the Protectionist guidelines of the White House discovered in April, Trump imposed a so -called “mutual tariff” of 26% for Indian goods, which was temporarily reduced until July.

Apple's general meeting in India in India, Foxconn, received approval from the Indian government on Monday for the construction of a semiconductor work in the country in a joint venture with the HCL group.

Apple has spent decades to build its supply chain in China, but has looked at itself in other countries such as Vietnam and India to expand its production capacity.

However, experts generally agree that the movement of the iPhone to the USA would be extremely unlikely due to the final price of the end product. Different estimates set the cost of an iPhone between 1,500 and 3,500 US dollars if it has been made in the USA

Apple currently produces very few products in the USA. The Cupertino giant produces the Mac Pro in the USA in February. It announced that he launched a production facility for the production of servers for Apple Intelligence, whose AI system, in Texas.
