Omega has just restarted Eddie Redmaynes Killer -Day “Day of the Schakal”

Omega has announced the return of the RailMaster, a model that was originally introduced in 1957 as part of the first professional Watch collection tool.

The updated version that comes onto the market today keeps the utilitarian roots of the watch and integrates contemporary progress into anti -timing technology.

The original Railmaster (Ref. CK2914) debut alongside the Speedmaster and Seastaster 300 in the so -called “Professional Trilogy” from Omega.

In contrast to its real estate -supported objects for motorsport or diving, the railmaster was intended for experts who worked in environments with high magnetic fields such as railway workers, engineers and scientists. It contained a soft iron interior housing to protect the movement from magnetic interference and to protect up to 1,000 Gauss.

While the Railmaster had difficulty winning traction and was discontinued in 1963, the Speedmaster and Seamaster lines were two of the most famous and commercially successful watches in the world.

Both models were carried by a variety of public personalities, from astronauts to actors, and remain of central importance for Omega's global sales.

The Railmaster was reintroduced in 2003 with a case of Aqua Terra case and exhibition case and in 2017 as part of the 60th anniversary collection of Omega.

The new rail champions are driven by Omega's coaxial master chronometer caliber 8806 and 8804 and offer modern standards for precision and magnetic resistance. These movements are certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) and do not need Faraday cage to achieve a resistance of up to 15,000 Gauss.

Several public personalities were worn, including the actors Eddie Redmayne and Kevin Hart.

Redmayne in particular wore the watch in the Sky series The day of the jackalin which he appears as a title-shaped assassin version of the character from Frederick Forsyth's 1971 novel from 1971.

(Perhaps his inconspicuous but targeted design was the right agreement with Redmaynes cold methodical character?)

The Railmaster, which has long been seen as a overlooked siblings of the professional trilogy of Omega, is now returning with modern engineering, filmic light and fresh design identity.
