2 women from the Maine Group Home die after the crash of Auburn

Auburn, Maine (WGME) -Zwei Women died after a crash in Auburn.

The crash occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Washington Street and Beech Hill Road.

The police say that a Honda Odyssey van has tried to cross the Washington Street from the Beech Hill Road when he crossed a Chevrolet Silverado pickup and had the vehicles collided.

The van transported two adult customers of John F. Murphy Homes, a group house for people with intellectual and developmental disorders.

The police say that a 57-year-old passenger in the van was brought to the Central Maine Medical Center, where she died shortly after arrival. A second passenger was also brought to the Central Maine Medical Center. She died early Thursday morning.

According to the police, the driver of the pickup was not seriously injured.

The names of the victims have not yet been published.

The crash is examined.
