Nascar Hammers Ford driver Chris Buscher and his team for illegal modifications at Kansas

Concord, NC (AP) – NASCAR punished the driver Chris Buescher and his roush Fenway Keselowski racing team for illegal modifications on the bumper of his No. 17 Ford on the Kansas Speedway.

The sanction authority created the team 60 driver points, 60 owner points, five driver playoff points and five playoff points of the owner for the violation of level 1. It also punished the team with a fine of $ 75,000 and interrupted the crew boss Scott Graves from the next two races: the all-star race and the Coca-Cola 600.

The high punishments came three days after Buescher took eighth place in Kansas and had thrown it to the 24th place in the 12th in the Cup series -Spot -Punkt.

The violations were discovered when the car was inspected after the race in the Nascar F&D Center.

Brad Moran, managing director of the Cup series, said in the “Transporte Talk” podcast that the car exceeded the maximum 2 inch reinforcement behind the front bumper foam.

There was no immediate word about whether RFK Racing would appeal to the punishment.
