The state follows the growing national movement to recognize invisible wounds of first aiders

(Austin, Texas) – In a united front, both Texas House and the Senate presented official resolutions that proclaim May 14, 2025 as the day of consciousness for moral injuries In Texas, the state's commitment marks the awareness of the psychological and emotional stress on military members, veterans, first aiders and experts at the forefront.

“Many veterans and first aiders wear loads that are invisible but no less real,” said Senator Kelly Hancock, R-Fort worth. “We are appointed to bear the other's burdens. I am confident that the Texans are happy to meet this responsibility towards men and women who risk everything for the security of our communities every day.

Moral injuries, a disease that differs from post -traumatic stress disorder, occurs when individuals are committed, testified or do not prevent or do not prevent them from violating their deeply occupied moral beliefs and causing feelings of guilt, shame and loss of trust.

Charlie Geren, R-Fort worth. “By supporting programs such as R3, we not only deal with the silent wounds that also build up stronger, healthier communities in our state. I am proud to draw attention to this important topic with my colleagues and to support the mental health of our heroes at the forefront.”

“I am grateful for the recognition of the tireless work of R3 for moral injury in Fort Worth through mental, emotional, physical and spiritual support,” said Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker. “On this day for the awareness of moral injuries, I ask Texas to continue to prioritize mental health and well -being for our men and women in uniforms that serve our communities selflessly every day.”

This nationwide American Warrior Association (AWA) recognized with an urban proclamation last summer Day of moral injury awareness In Fort Worth. The proclamation supports the current partnership of the city with the AWA and the recent start of R3 – Answers, restore, solveA pioneering initiative for moral injury to first aiders.

“We are so grateful for the support of our nationwide chosen officials who secure in our work to secure psychological health resources for our first aiders and veteran communities,” said Anna Heil, managing director of the R3. “The provision of accessible, non -clinical support for mental health for our first aiders and veterans is now more important than ever and works with a group of chosen civil servants who are ready to behave quickly.”

So far, R3 has implemented programs with the city of Fort Worth Fire and police stations, the city of Dallas Fire and Police Divits and the International Airport DFW.

R3 offers advantages that extend over all fronts.
