Trump Administration escalates the Harvard Feud with new investigations by the judicial department

The Trump administration examines whether Harvard's admission policy corresponds to a decision by the Supreme Court, which ended the affirmative measures and opened a new front for its expansion of efforts to bring the institution into the heel.

In a letter on Monday, the Ministry of Justice Harvard informed about an examination of whether his admission procedure had been used to fraud the government. The investigation was opened in accordance with the law on false claims, a law that is intended to punish those who punish the government according to the letter checked by the New York Times.

The investigation increases the increasing pressure on the oldest and richest university in the nation to revise its approvals, curricula and the attitudes to deal with President Trump's political agenda. The educational department also informed Harvard at the beginning of this month that its admission guidelines were the subject of a new compliance check to determine whether the university was racist discriminated against, according to a letter from the agency, which was also seen by the Times.

The compliance check and the investigation of the Ministry of Justice have not yet been reported. It is very unusual to judge a university as part of the False Claim's law, which reflects the increasingly aggressive tactics of the administration.

Studies of the False Claims Act typically focus on contractors who are accused of ending the government. If it is liable, Harvard has to return money to the government and could be occupied by hundreds of millions of dollars.

The new investigations are pushing the government deeper into a politically flammable debate about prosperity, privileges and breed. It is also the latest example of the willingness of the Trump government to use the enormous powers of the Ministry of Justice to achieve its political goals.
