Chicago man charged with children's crimes in Platte County

Kansas City, Mo (KCTV) – A man from Chicago was charged with sexual crimes in Platte County.

A probable document in front of the County Court Platte County said Michael Jerome Williams was charged with attempted first -degree sodomy.

The police said Williams had been identified as a person of interest in a case that came in January. On January 24, 2025, officers from the Kansas City police department, Missouri, were called to the children's hospital for a sexual criminal offense against a 7-year-old girl.

Officers said the victim showed how her cousin touched her and identified him as from Chicago.

Williams' Facebook page was connected to a telephone number and it was found that he has an extensive crime history in Illinois, said KCPD detectives. In February, Williams followed the incident.

An arrest warrant against Williams' arrest was issued on Thursday. The delivery from Illinois would be necessary and KCPD does not request a bond.
