Applications for the new school voucher program from Tennessee Open | Depression from our network

Memphis, tenn. – Tennessee parents can now apply for public money to help for private school lessons. Applications for the extended school voucher program of the state, which is now known as Education Freedom Scholarship, was opened today.

Now families can apply for a private school in all 95 Tennessee Counties. The program was only available in a handful of counties, including Shelby.

The program has slots for 20,000 students who received 7,295 US dollars in state money to pay the tuition fees for private schools.

To apply, you need two documents that show your Tennessee Residence. You need proof of the student citizenship of the student or two examples of legitimate presence in the USA. The student has to enter kindergarten up to the 12th grade, but may not have spent more than 13 years at school. The student must be at least five years old by September 30th.

Half of the slots is based. In order to have the income of your family justified, below 300% of the federal or reduced lunch guidelines must be. For example, a family of four has to earn less than $ 173,160. Or you have to qualify for temporary support for needy families or the TANF, the program or for the additional nutritional program or SNAP advantages.

The state says that at least 230 private schools have registered to accept the scholarships.
