Victorville Man dies after the Mother's Day motorcycle on 15 motorway in the Cajon Pass

Cajon Pass, California (vvng.com) – A man from Victorville, who was critically injured in a motorcycle accident on Mother's Day in the Cajon Pass, died of his injuries, confirmed officials.

The Coroner's Office of the San Bernardino County identified the victim as the 58-year-old Donald Leroy Post. He died in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center after being flown from the crash on May 11, 2025.

The collision occurred on Sunday at 4:15 p.m. on the highway towards the south, south of the Oak Hill Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash contained a motorcycle and a silver Chevrolet sedan in No. 1 track. Post was ejected from his motorcycle in the event of impact.

The fire brigade of San Bernardino County reacted and treated post at the scene. Due to the severity of his injuries, Mercy Air No. 22 was requested and landed on the motorway, which led to a full temporary closure of the lanes led south. Post was flown to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Despite the early reports that he was conscious at the crime scene, Post later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The California Highway Patrol has not published any further details about the cause of the crash, and the investigation remains. No other serious injuries were reported.

After his death, friends shared public tributes on social media who described the post as a loyal friend and long -time motorcycle enthusiast who touched many lives.

“Drive in Paradise Donald Leroy Post alias DD DONNY,” wrote Steve Offen cup in a tribute position. “Enjoy your journey with the Forever Charter and let our brothers who went in front of us know that one day we will drive together again.”
