The Los Angeles Dodgers have a total of 14 pitchers on the injured list, with the youngest right -handed Roki Sasaki.

Sasaki was placed on the IL on Tuesday with a right shoulder tension, and it seems that the injury is similar with which he treated Chiba Lotte Marines from Nippon Professional Baseball last season – just not so serious.

“I had something similar, but actually worse, and it was something I could overcome and still perform,” said Sasaki.

In the last start of the rookies against the Arizona Diamondback, Sasaki produced zero hubs on his Fastball. A pitch, which was once described as electrically in Sasaki in NPB, still has to find his way to the baseball in the states.

The Japanese phenomenon looked like 20 batteries and did not produce a single swing and miss. The greatest concern of Sasaki's latest performance was his command and the reduced speed.

The 23-year-old sees his time on the IL as an opportunity to re-evaluate his early performance in MLB and find ways to improve.

“I have the feeling that this is a good time for it, so I would like to make sure that I am fully healthy and can be able to tackle everything I had so that it leads to a better performance,” said Sasaki.

“In the last two games, I was not entirely satisfied with the overall performance.”

Sasaki has an ERA of 4.72 and 1.485 whip over eight starts this season. According to reports, the right-hander has reported the injury in his last two starts because he wanted to help an exhausted Dodgers rotation.

“I just look at the team and where the team situation was, I really wanted to help the team in any way, in some form or form,” added Sasaki. “After this was said, the last two excursions were no longer to where I want it.”

The Dodgers now have three starters who were at the opening rotation on the IL. The violations of Pitching staff were discouraging and it is unclear what the Dodgers will do to manage the situation.
