Injury update for Georgia Baseballstar Robbie Burnett

Georgia Baseball started the start of a SEC series with Texas A&M with a 10: 6 victory on Thursday, May 15th, but Impact Transfer Robbie Burnett left the home game.

Burnett, the senior outfield, stumbled when he approached the first basis in a piece he buried on the second Baseman.

He was treated by a trainer. The coach of Georgia, Wes Johnson, whose team fights for his NCAA tournament seed, also came out to see Burnett.

“Great news about him, just a small burden,” said Johnson in Georgia's postgame radio broadcast. “I don't know where he will be for tomorrow. We'll check him, but I think it frightened him a little more than what was actually going when he stumbles. But I think he'll be fine. Good news.”

Burnett, in his first season after moving from UNC-Osheville, reached second place in the SEC with 20 homes after reaching another Friday, and is the league leader with 66 RBI.

Freshman Bryce Clavon replaced Burnett on the field in the ninth.

Another sign that Burnett seems to be okay is that it was made available for a postgame interview.

He said reporters that he was “ok”, according to a post on X by Anthony Dasher from Ugasports.com, who said Burnett said his leg had triggered, but was not sure what had happened.

Georgia appears to get another top slugger back. The first Baseman/designated Hitter Ryland Zabrowski, who has not played because of April 26 due to an elbow injury, was performed as a game before the game on Thursday evening, but did not play.

The second game of the series will take place on Friday at 6:02 p.m.
