Main crime by 25% in Richmond County under Sheriff Brantley: RCSO

Just 130 days after his first term, Sheriff Eugene Brantley provides measurable results for Richmond County, with a decline in serious crimes by 25% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to a RCSO press release.

From 1st January to May 10, 2025, the district reported a strong decline in key categories:

  • Car theft 41% down
  • Stricter attacks with firearms 39% sink
  • Murders 20% by 20%

The Sheriff's office in Richmond County writes proactive enforcement, community public relations and strong partnerships with state and state authorities, including the US -Marschall -Ask Force and Georgia State Patrol.

Security in the city center has become a focus. The MPs now patrol every block in the city center from 9 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., while the community's security officers offer the residents and companies the visibility and support of the day.

Traffic deaths also decreased by 16% compared to the previous year. “Please slow down, obey traffic signals and drive you safely,” pushed Sheriff Brantley. “Every life on our streets is too many.”

Sheriff Brantley will meet with local managing directors on May 29 to strengthen the security strategies in the city center and recently deployed with the inner city development agency in the city center to continue building public-private cooperation.

The sheriff's office also focuses on building trust through public relations. The next big community event, “Sheriff Brantleys Summer Q”, will take place on June 28th in May Park.

“I am really blessed to serve in addition to such a committed team of men and women and serve a community that I really love,” said Sheriff Brantley in the press release. “We still have work to do, but I believe in our mission and the strength of this community.”

He closed the press release with a biblical message of perseverance: “And don't let us get tired if we are able to faint in the season at the given season.”
