Lawyers for family von Mann who were killed in the FSU shootout holds the press conference outside of the student association

Tallahassee, Fla. – Lawyers of the family of one of the two men who were killed during the mass shooting at Florida State University at the beginning of this month will speak outside the student union at a press conference on Wednesday morning.

The national civil rights attorney Bakari Sellers, Jim Bannister and J Robert Bell III, will speak on behalf of the family of Tiru Chabba, the 45-year-old father and executive of the Food Service seller Aramark, who was killed on April 17 on the campus.

According to a press release, the lawyers will request “full transparency and thorough examination” of the events around the shootout.

Phoenix Ikner, the 20-year-old son of a deputy of a sheriff office in Leon County, was arrested and accused of opening fire near the student association shortly in the front of the student association.

Chabba and Robert Morales, a university dining coordinator, were killed during the shootout. Six other people were injured.

Ikner was shot by the reaction of the law enforcement authorities and taken to a local hospital, officials said.
