Married couple accused of chase in West Gardiner, say officials

After a chase of a police in West Gardiner, two people are charged on Tuesday, officials said.

At around 1:30 p.m., a state troops saw a Chevrolet Impala on Townhouse Road, which was allegedly driven by Pearle Thomas (34) from Augusta with her husband Zebbie Thomas (33) from Charleston, Shannon Moss, from the Ministry of Public Security by Maine.

“Zebbie Thomas has several active arrest warrants that were issued by other law enforcement authorities due to robbery, serious bodily harm and violation of the release,” said Moss. “Zebbie and Pearle have been withdrawing the law enforcement authorities several times in recent weeks, while efforts to grasp them.”

The soldier tried to cover the impala, but the driver was supposedly not stopped and there was a chase, said Moss. The soldier then used a PIT maneuver on the West Road, which ended the chase.

A PIT maneuver occurs when a persecuting vehicle exerts pressure on the back of a refugee vehicle, which leads the fleeing vehicle out of rinsing.

“Both Pearl and Zebbie Thomas were taken into account without further incident,” said Moss. “Both are treated in a local hospital for minor injuries and are taken to Kennebec County prison after release.”

The two are accused of escaping to an officer, endangering Moss to the endanger and not stopping.

West Gardiner and Gardin fire departments assisted at the scene.
