The Pennsylvania State Police launched a fast DNA analysis program in which technology is distributed, with which investigators can test samples outside of a laboratory and achieve results in just 90 minutes.

The agency recently made 15 automated genetic analyzers for state troops available throughout the Commonwealth and predicted that the police will help the police to solve cases faster.

“This program represents considerable progress in our forensic skills,” said Colonel Christopher Paris, Commissioner of the State Police. “Fast DNA analysis can accelerate the development of examination lines, identify the suspects and help to exclude people at greater speed.”

The soldiers recently used the quick analysis of a blood sample when they examined a case of ATM manipulations. According to State Police, they received the rehearsal from a DNA database and received a hit in less than two hours.

Only trained members of the Forensic Services unit of the agency are entitled to carry out the fast analysis, and laboratory workers check all games, said the department.
