A man was killed in the early Friday after being hit by a vehicle Opa-LockaAccording to the Miami-Dade sheriff.

The crash occurred around 5:34 a.m. when the vehicle drove north on the NW 27th Avenue.

The authorities said that the driver stayed at the scene after he had hit the adult male pedestrian who was taken to a local hospital, but later died of his injuries.

Traffic detectives of the traffic murder from the Miami-Dade sheriff have taken over the investigation. Officials have not published the victim's identity or other details.

The Sheriff's office said that no further information was available immediately.
