The 3-year-old killed, as a suspected drunk driver plows in the family's car, which was considered for flat tires

Conroe, Texas (KTRK)-a 3-year-old girl was killed after a suspected drunk driver joined her family's car that was run over on the side of a highway.

The crash occurred on Mother's Day in Conroe, Texas, north of Houston.

The 3-year-old, who was only identified as Chamiria, was killed.

Family members said Chamiria's mother Shavehn White had driven to pick up her son with her two young daughters in the car when she got a flat tire on Interstate 45.

Shundrell White Brady, the grandmother of the children, said that the family had been stopped on the highway side for more than two hours and waited for me to be waiting for help.

“She was on the side of the road so that someone got her for two hours until the accident,” said White Brady. “There was constant communication between her and one of her siblings and someone who tried to get her.”

But before someone could get to the family, a suspected drunk driver fell into his vehicle, killed Chamiria and injured her mother and 5-year-old sister Chloe.

Chloe and her mother suffered severe burns and broken bones. Both are currently in the Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Memorial Hermann Hospital.

“It's terrible. Almost unbelievable. I still try to process all the information and everything that is going on, so I'm almost like I'm just going through the movements,” said White Brady.

The driver was identified as a 55-year-old Donald Carson. He is also in the hospital and faces a number of drunk manslaughter and two counts of intoxicating attacks.

An arrest warrant shows that he admitted to the Conroe police that he drank before the crash.

Criminal register shows that Carson had an earlier condemnation of DWI 22 years ago.

Chamiria's family hopes that the driver will be convicted so that they can get justice for the little girl.

“I just hope and pray that people would make better decisions and decisions before they hit the wheel of a car because it affects everyone. It affects a family,” said their Toll Latricia Tolliver.

The family says they are destroyed and know that they will not see that Chamiria will grow up.

“We will never see how they will fulfill their life, dreams or whatever their efforts at this time because they were only 3 years old,” said Tolliver.
