Chicago Cubs Score and Summary (16.05.25): Cubs 13, White Sox 3

The Cubs and White Sox started their series in Wrigley on a warm and sunny Friday afternoon. The road team used an early advantage, but the North Siders roared back thanks to their dynamic Young Center Fielders to win in blowout fashion.

Cade Horton made his first career MLB start and gave Miguel Vargas a Homer with two runs in the opening inside to provide the SOX a 2-0 lead. There was controversy just before Homer when Chase Medroth initially tried to steal the second, but the referee ruled Nico Hoerner Blockally Blockally with his foot and the runner was safely mentioned.

The Cubs then broke six runs against Shane Smith in the lower edge of the 2nd to continue. Moisés Ballesteros hit a floor ball for the first time with men on the second and third, and Michael Busch made a great slide to take the throw home. Hoerner then became the third and the catcher Matt Thaiss dropped a slight throw on the plate to achieve a mistake that made it possible for the binding run.

Pete Crow-Armstrong hit the big blow when he raised a Homer with three runs with a lunar shot on the right field line to bring the home team 5-2. Kyle Tucker tripled and Seiya Suzuki doubled him to complete the gate in the big inn.

Vargas hit a second Homer in the 3rd Inning, and that would be the last run the White Sox achieved. Crow-Armstrong had an RBI single on a pop-up and Suzuki hit a victim fly to make it in 6.8-3.

PCA moved home in the 7th two more to reach a whopping six RBI on Friday. The Cubs scored three runs in the 8th, including one in ball yesters' first career hit, to defeat a 13: 3 victory. ((Box score)))

The rackets used the favorable conditions, the wind blowing out and treating the pitching with a very weak SOX without any major problems.

• After a bit cooled, PCA is back with revenge: 4-for-5, HR, 2 R, 6 RBI.
• Ballesteros got his first goal and drove in two runs.

Conclusion

The crazy thing is that Crow Armstrong is hardly in his career for a whole year and that he is at least the second best player on the squad. If he can meet 30 Homeruns per season, he will be an MVP candidate every year. The Cubs could have seen things out of them when they came up with a shaky start on Friday, but they just grind on to beat up a weaker opponent.
